Oklahoma District LWML Projects Printer Cartridge Recycling Project The Printer Cartridge Recycling Project that began during the Convention 2003 preparations will continue! A Printer Cartridge Committee has been formed to oversee the use and distribution of the monies received from this project. Two projectors for PowerPoint presentations have been purchased from these funds and will be used at rallies and conventions. Clean
collection receptacles are available in participating churches. Place your used
cartridges in the receptacle. Cartridges are collected and sent in for
recycling. Contact friends and ask them to save their used printer cartridges.
If you know a school or business that would donate their used printer
cartridges, volunteer to collect them and bring them to a collection point.
Working together all of us will be able to help clean the environment and
contribute to our project.
To learn more, contact Marguerite Christman.
Stamps for Missions Save your commemorative and foreign stamps for the Stamps for Missions project. There are fewer commemorative stamps being used, so keep your eyes open. Take your stamps to your Fall Rally and Spring Workshop or get them to your zone president so she can take them to the district board meeting. Marilyn Laramy will see that they get to Evelyn Jones of Cushing for sorting and sending in the stamps. The proceeds from this project help to purchase Bibles and Bible study material for the International Student Mission Project at Oklahoma State University. Look for: Stamps should be properly trimmed by leaving 1/4 inch around the stamp. Do not trim to the perforations. Damaged stamps are discarded and of no value to this project. To learn more, contact Marilyn Laramy.
Special Gifts Fund Don't forget the Oklahoma District LWML Special Gifts Fund. This fund is a place where your gifts can see an increase. Gifts are invested and the earned interest provides funding for the ongoing mission of the Oklahoma District LWML. A special
contribution envelope is available from your zone president. Use this envelope
to make a contribution in honor of a friend's birthday...a special occasion...a
memorial to a special person.. Send your gifts to the District Treasurer, Audrey
Aiken, 516 SW 63rd Terrace, Oklahoma City, OK 73139. For information about the fund,
contact the Special Gifts Chairman,
Marilyn Laramy.
