Cherie Meislahn, Zone President October 2011
The Miami Zone Fall Fest was smaller than it has been in years, which allowed us some flexibility in the scheduling. The ladies seemed to enjoy this as they had more time than usual to socialize with one another. There were 25 ladies and 4 Pastors present. Pastor Neumann from Owasso led our opening and closing with his usual sense of humor. Pastor Schroeder from Fairland led us in bible study. Also attending were Pastor Moeller from Adair and Pastor Burger from Claremore. We appreciate all these Pastors taking their time to spend with us on a Saturday. Carolyn Love attended on behalf of President Bev and we appreciate her traveling to be with us.
We were provided a delicious BBQ meal. Dianna Just told us about her trip to India to teach English and of her visit with Alice Brauer. Her stories were very interesting. What an experience. If you need a mission speaker, I suggest giving Dianna a call. Carolyn Bening gave us a wonderful convention report stating that they just keep getting better and better. We collected non-perishable food items and cleaning supplies for our in gathering to take to Joplin.
We received $280.00 in registration fees less expenses of $27.00 for a profit of $253.00. Offering collected totaled $160.55. The LWML store sold $72.75 worth of merchandise. It was a lovely day.
