Our OKC Zone Fall Fest was September 10, 2011 at Holy Trinity in Edmond. Of the 17 societies in our zone 13 participated. We had 120 in attendance, including our guest speakers, Bob and Lynn Willis and Laura Price, YWR., from Lawton, President Bev and five pastors! God is faithful and we were blessed. It was such an encouraging day. We were spending time" Being with Jesus and Living in His Word" In the business meeting it was voted to accept the updated Zone By Laws with some changes and corrections. No elections were held.
We had a mite offering of $934.84. Our store sales were $191.35. Registration fees were $1,190 less expenses of $304.81 left us with additional mites’ gift of $881.59 The Gifts from the Heart were designated for Positive Tomorrows. 41 packages of socks and underwear, 85 items of clothing, 11 pairs of shoes, 16 belts, 93 bottles of lotion, shampoo, deodorant and toothbrushes, 17 pairs of scissors, 53 sets of flashcards, 11 spiral notebooks, 176 erasers, 438 pens and pencils, 32 pocket folders, 18 packets of notebook paper, 43 packs of crayons markers and colored pencils, 23 glue sticks and glue, 22 books, 1 electric pencil sharpener, and 25 other miscellaneous items were donated!
OKC Zone took 219 Quilts, 133 Health and Personal Care kits, 133 School Kits, 30 Fabric kits, 29 Layettes, 49 pounds of soap in addition to the items from both Lawton and Kingfisher Zones for Lutheran World Relief to Wichita October 4. Jerry Coghill from Christ Mustang drove using the church van from Zion and a trailer we were blessed to use at no cost. With money contributed from both Kingfisher and Lawton Zones to cover expenses OKC Zone had no expense involved.
As Zone President I have attended the June 4 board meeting, held a zone meeting following the BOD, attended National Convention in Peoria as a Zone Delegate, visited three societies in the zone and worked with our Zone Fall Fest.
