There were 57 in attendance at the Ponca City Zone Fall Fest held at Zion in Stillwater on September 24th. Forty-one members were present as well as three Pastors and thirteen guests. Zion’s Pastor Kinast lead the group in opening devotions. The Mary-Martha Society from Zion, Guthrie presented the Bible Study . Pastor Rains , Cynthia Taylor, Kaye Freudenberger, and Brenda Nivens were leaders. Sara Schieffer-Oldham and Gabe Bahr, young adults from Zion, shared their uplifting experiences from mission trips they had made this year. Sara, a 2nd year medical student, went to El Salvador on a medical mission trip and Gabe went to Japan after the devastating tsunami. District V.P. of Communications, Susan Brunkow, presented the President’s Report in President Bev’s absence. Pastor Dehney from Newkirk lead the closing devotion and “Gifts from the Heart” for Birth Choice in Stillwater were dedicated. Boxes for LWR boxes were received. They were delivered to Wichita on Oct. 4th by Marilyn Pralle of Ponca City. LWR Totals: 1455 lbs. which included 260 quilts (950 lbs); 10 blankets (33 lbs); 48 health kits ( 84.5 lbs); 105 school kits (314.5 lbs); 4 fabric kits (5 lbs); 15 layettes (38 lbs); and 30 lbs. of soap.
The Convention Planning Committee has met twice this summer at Guthrie as we continue preparations for the District 2012 Convention. Next meeting will be Nov. 5 in Perry.
